CHBP Announces New Dental Cost Savings Programs Available to Health Centers Under the Delta Purchasing Alliance

by | Mar 11, 2021

The Delta Purchasing Alliance, a program of Community Health Best Practices, LLC, is excited to announce two new preferred pricing agreements for dental supplies and equipment. These two agreements are very unique for dental suppliers, and represent some of the best pricing available for community health centers. And even better—these savings opportunities are available to your health center immediately!

First, we’re pleased to announce a partnership with Benco Dental. Benco Dental is the largest privately owned, full-service distributor of dental supplies, dental equipment, dental consulting and equipment services in the United States. Founded in 1930 by Benjamin Cohen, the company has remained family owned and focused on the unique mission of “delivering success smile after smile.” Benco Dental has provided products and services to our government and community health centers for 2 decades, and is a key NACHC Community Health Ventures partner in their Value in Dental program.

We’re also thrilled to announce a preferred pricing agreement with Patterson Dental Supply. Patterson is an industry-leading specialty distributor that has served the North American dental market for 142 years through a complete range of consumable dental products, equipment and software, turnkey digital solutions, and value-add services. Patterson has an estimated 30% share of the North American dental market. Patterson has provided service to hundreds of FQHC’s across the USA, and they are Members of NACHC, OSAP, HRSA and fully understand the mission of all community health centers in providing healthcare for the underserved, uninsured and underinsured.

Like our McKesson contract for medical supplies and equipment, the DPA is receiving preferred pricing from these two suppliers in exchange for our volume compliance. If your health center wishes to take advantage of the tremendous savings available to the DPA from either Patterson or Benco, you would have to agree to purchase 80% of your dental supply and equipment requirements from your selected supplier.

Based on an initial analysis of DPA member savings, we believe most of our member health centers stand to save anywhere from 5%-25% annually on their dental supplies and equipment.
